REENERGIZING AMERICA: BRIDGING GENERATION AND CULTURE GAPS & A PLAN FOR A NEW ENVIRONMENTAL DECADE
There is a fierce urgency to engage, educate, and embrace the next generation of environmental leaders; but who is leading the effort and at the table on behalf of generation and cultural inclusion? Millennials are the largest generation in American history. Born between 1978 and 2000, they are 95 million strong, compared to 78 million Baby Boomers. They are independent-politically, socially, and philosophically-and they are spearheading a period of sweeping change in America and around the world. My strategy is to explain with simplicity the emerging power of the Millennial Generation, discuss entertainment, social media, and technology as tools to mobilize the next generation of conservationists, and show how they (and their supporters from other generations) are poised to change our nation and our world for the better while laying out a socially responsible plan for progressive change that today's youth are ready to implement.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~ Used by Nelson Mandela in his 1994 inaugural speech
THE NEW COLOR OF GREEN: A COLLECTIVE VOICE TOWARDS CHANGE
Historically, those who prioritize environmental issues are perceived to be upper class, white, and college educated who think globally and act locally. At the same time, there is a history of diverse people acting locally on problems that directly impact their families, friends, and communities. Integrating these voices into the mainstream has long been a goal of the environmental movement, but it has remained elusive. In the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, local issues have become global, and environmental speaker Daniel Blackman demonstrates why making these voices heard has become more urgent than ever.
GREEN OPPORTUNITIES LEAD TO PATHWAYS OUT OF POVERTY
At a time when our nation faces challenges on multiple fronts, investing in the green economy has emerged as a single solution to multiple problems. There is opportunity in every facet of our economy, whether it be green building, manufacturing wind turbines, implementing energy efficient technologies, or inventing the fuels of the future. Conservationist Daniel Blackman shows how American industry can be at the forefront of transforming our economy to transform the world. (Category: Keynote / Panel / Teleclass)

CORPORATE “SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY” VERSES “ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY”
Have you heard of the “Triple’ Bottom Line,” PEOPLE, PLANET, & PROFIT? Today’s organizations are expected to be more socially and environmentally responsible, and with a growing lack of corporate responsibility demonstrated by companies engaging in questionable and corrupt dealings, the demand for more ethical business processes and actions is increasing. Daniel draws from his extensive experience with business, civil rights organizations, and community advocates who passionately convey the importance of integrity and loyalty in the workplace. Daniel has an uncanny ability to mix ethical standards with solid business practice, addressing issues such as Diversity, Corporate Governance, Corporate Responsibility, and Ethics and Values. Whatever the specific needs of your organization, Daniel can moderate the ideal conversation to lead a successful, motivational workshop or seminar.
